Joe Cook
In 2009 I finished school and decided to go into an apprenticeship to become an electrician.
I was quite lucky that one of my family friends took me on as his apprentice, in college they taught us all of the normal electrical installation procedures, sockets, lights, fuse boxes ect ... But working with my family friend I gained experience with so much more.. such as Home cinema, Networking, Burglar alarms, TV & Satellite and more.
Once I finished my apprenticeship I moved onto a construction company where I was their sole electrician and this is where I was responsible for some really big projects.
The first project was a renovation of a 400 year old 7 bedroom home, the architect's drawings for the changes had no electrical plan so I had total freedom right from the design stage of the electrical installation. I designed the lighting layout and installed everything from TV & Satellite, Networking, Ceiling speakers and burglar alarm.

The next project was turning a small chapel into an amazing two bedroom home, I installed the full electrical system and working with the client we came up with some amazing lighting designs to create an ambience like no other.
We had small lighting in the window ledges of the arch windows which glowed in the evening, a recess at the end of the ceiling in the bedroom with LED strip lighting which gave the whole wall a warm glow and remote controlled outdoor lighting so you could switch on the driveway, porch and flowerbed lighting from a key fob.
Whilst completing those two large scale jobs I wired a few kitchen extensions and completed work at a large office building for a big travel company, installing bollard lighting in their car park, wiring a gym they built for their staff, getting power to new air conditioning units and installing a 3 phase board and power supply to their new server room.
I then wanted to follow my passion for home cinema & Hi-Fi and got a job at Richer Sounds as their installer, after 3 years they made me deputy manager of the Oxford store. I loved working for Richer Sounds and I have learnt so much, not just about the products but also about customer service and how to run a business with a loyal customer base.

Now I'm here and excited for the future, chomping at the bit ready for some project's !
